This project was made to pay tribute to one of the most profound sounds that came out of Memphis Tennessee. I sampled strictly 45's courtesy of The Stacks Record Shop from the record label Stax. I've been reading a book on the label and reading about how they came up, first as a record shop slowly getting enough capital to release some singles but making the majority of their money from their record store called Satellite Records that was next door from their studio. They were a community a lot of the talent grew up around the studio that eventually came to be in 926 E. McLemore Ave. In this project you can hear samples from Carla and Rufus Thomas, Booker T and The M.G.'s, Eddie Floyd, Albert King, and the list goes on. I heard there's a documentary as well out on Stax, but I would highly recommend reading the book.

Shoutout Massimo Chalini for the insane cover art, and inspiration for the title.
